Photography Workshop, Environmental Portarait

This workshop is intended to intermediate to advanced photographers. It focuses on exploring the genre of environmental portraiture. Where the subject is photographed in the environment that reflects their unique essence, rather than photographing portraits focused on the physical features. The workshop features two exercises, the first is done in class on day one. The second is on day two for each participant to shoot on their own, later receiving feedback on day three. The final result and main objective of the workshop is to create a cohesive body of work using this particular genre.
* Participants are required to bring their camera and laptop.

Day 1:
- Learning basics of environmental portraiture and creating a cohesive body of work.
- Studio exercise 1.

Day 2:
- Participants go out and shoot in the morning exercise 2.
- Participants return to edit, touchup and develop the body of work with instructions.

Day 3:
- Present the work and receive feedback.

Farah is a visual artist from Kuwait. She graduated with a BA of Arts majoring in Visual Communications. Farah has gained much knowledge on photography by working with different established photographers, taking courses and workshops, including a course at New York Film Academy. She works with many forms of photography from film, instant to digital. She specializes in street, and conceptual photography. As well as exploring methods of photography that go beyond the frame, weather by installation or different printing techniques.
