Startup Bootcamp

Startup Bootcamp is a 3-week program designed for complete beginners in business and tech startups. We explain every term and concept in the simplest words possible and encourage participants to ask as many questions as they have. It's an intensive learning experience, so even those with some background on building apps will benefit.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the Bootcamp, participants will:

• Know how to use the Business Model Canvas to plan out all the key components of their startup
• Know the basics of user-experience design
• Receive mockups for their app or website to show potential customers, partners, and investors
• Have conducted effective customer interviews and surveys that ask the right questions to extract the insights they need
• Know how to calculate costs and ways of making money (monetization)
• Know how to present their idea, pitch it to investors, and set up a landing page to collect emails and launch to an eager crowd

About the instructors:

Mona Al-Mukhaizeem is the co-founder and managing partner of Sirdab Lab. She has an MBA from Hult International Business School, San Francisco and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Kuwait University.

Mona worked in Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young and as an Investment Manager at Global Investment House. In 2012, she helped launch Alchemist Accelerator, a venture-backed business incubator in Silicon Valley, and was a consultant at Naxuri Capital, a seed fund investing firm. Her wide-ranging experience makes her an authority on seed fund investing, private equity and venture capital.

Haider Al‐Mosawi is the co‐founder of Sirdab Lab. An experienced UX (user experience) designer, he has helped tens of startups better understand their users and design user‐friendly apps, which increase customer engagement. Many of his re‐designs have helped startups reduce development costs by simplifying the apps to fewer screens. Haider is also a certified educator, and has helped in setting the curricula of Sirdab Lab's educational programs.
