10 August 2015 Kuwait

Assistant Undersecretary of the Roads Department at the Ministry of Public Works, Engineer Ahmad Al-Hassan, announced Sunday that 71.5% of phase two of the Al-Jahra road project has been completed, predicting a year's end completion date for the project.

In a press conference, Al-Hassan said that phase two of the project stretches from UN Roundabout to Hospital road, on a road length of 7.8 km and costing roughly around 45,797 Kuwaiti dinars (kd).

The Jahra Road Project aims at addressing the growing traffic problem in the country, through improving traffic safety by reducing congestion in key areas and separating through and local traffic as well as improving the level of service for road users.

Safety and high road standards are of paramount importance, added Al-Hassan, as a state of the art technology is being employed to complete the project.

The ultimate aim of the project is to create a safe and comfortable road for all drivers, Al-Hassan said.
