Attorney Hani Hussein has submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court to declare the decree on dissolving the National Assembly unconstitutional. In his petition, the lawyer pointed out that the decree did not meet the conditions for dissolving the Assembly, citing lack of legal basis for the dissolution and call for fresh elections. Consequently, he demanded for cancellation of the upcoming parliamentary elections, reinstatement of the dissolved Assembly, and issuance of a constitutional decree only if dissolution is necessary.

In another development, the Anti-Corruption Public Authority will start receiving reports about corruption on Monday, following the issuance of executive regulations and publication of the law in the Official Gazette.

Head of the authority Abdul- Rahman Al-Namsh affirmed that they will look into every report on corruption in accordance with the regulations, affirming the door is open for individuals or entities to submit such reports or complaints.
