Court Of Cassation Cancelled The Verdict Of The Appeals Court

23 January 2017 Crime News

The Court of Cassation cancelled the verdict of the Appeals Court and annulled the decision of the Director of Public Authority for Disabled Affairs against issuing and renewing disability card for a plaintiff. Lawyer Ali Al-Ali said his client is a registered disabled person who holds a card for people with disability issued by the relevant authority. He argued the Director of Public Authority for Disabled Affairs refused to renew the card under the pretext that it was issued by the Higher Council for Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, which was later changed to the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs. The First Instance Court ordered the Director of Public Authority for Disabled Affairs to issue a card for the plaintiff as per disable law of 2010 and based upon the medical report stating the complaint suffers 35 percent disability but the decision was cancelled by Appeals Court. Lawyer Al-Ali petitioned the Court of Cassation and requested cancellation of the decision of the Court of Appeals based on a four-member committee report. The plaintiff has filed a complaint with the Supreme Council for Affairs of Persons with Disabilities and he’s not supposed to be affected by changing the name of the body to the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs.
