10 People Jailed For Escape Facilitators

18 July 2016 Crime News

The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the Court of First Instance, which sentenced 10 people to three years in prison with hard labor for facilitating the escape of the prime suspect in the Fintas Group case – Hamad Al-Haroun. Al-Haroun was sentenced to 10 years in jail in absentia and he has yet to serve the prison term since he is out of the country until now.

The Public Prosecution accused one of the suspects, identified as M.A., of forging official document to indicate that another suspect, identified as A.H., entered the country on March 29, 2015 but he was actually outside. He used his position as official in charge of document verification to perpetrate the act. Three of the suspects were also accused of conspiring one suspect in committing both crimes while three others were charged with enabling Al-Haroun to evade justice even if they knew he was banned from traveling and a warrant has been issued to arrest him.
