100,000 Asian Domestic Workers Hold Driving Licences

Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Fahd Al-Shuwea. They obtained the licences before the Ministerial Decree No. 5598/2014, was issued which specifies the categories of professionals who are eligible to obtain the driving licences, he said.

Al-Shuwea said these Asians took advantage of the easy conditions for obtaining drivers’ licenses which are valid for 10 years and then changed their professions and the sponsors. There is no legal justification to withdraw the licences now, he added.
