117 Expats Held In Ahmadi Security Campaign

Ahmadi securitymen arrested 117 expatriates of various nationalities and closed down an unlicensed restaurant during a security campaign in several areas of Ahmadi Governorate. According to security sources, the sudden security campaign was launched by a team formed by Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa. The team set up security checkpoints throughout Ahmadi Governorate, and closed the entrance and exit roads of some areas in order to carry out the campaign. They arrested 117 expatriates for violating the residency law, who were reported as absconding, marginal personnel or for their involvement in cases. A restaurant that was selling food without legal authorization was closed down. The arrested expatriates were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
