1272 Held In Sulaibiya Fruit Market Raid
Security raid Continues
The General Security Department at Ministry of Interior launched impromptu security campaigns on Thursday at the fruit and vegetable market in Sulaibiya, resulted in the arrest of 1272 expatriates.
The campaigns were launched based on directives by high-ranking officials from Ministry of Interior, Immigration Department, General Traffic Department and other authorities.
According to official report, 403 arrested for working under different sponsors, 258 with expired residency, 70 under Article 20 for violating labor law, 33 for absconding cases, 3 wanted for financial claims, 4 wanted by law and 1 for criminal case.
In addition to this, several others were arrested for not carrying identification documents. Others were released after their documents were rechecked.
Yesterday in a similar campaign, authorities arrested more than 3500 at Bneid Al-gar raid. Last week in similar raid, more than 6000 were arrested from Jleeb and Al Rai area.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Interior affirmed that many such campaigns will be carried out in all areas and governorates of Kuwait to ensure adherence to law in all parts of the country, urging Expatriates to carry their identification documents at all times and cooperate with the police for the latter to perform their duties.
