2 Egyptians Arrested For Selling Visa To Expats

Some employees of a private farm including the Egyptian mandoup as well as an Egyptian visa trader were arrested for forging official documents related to the labor needs of the farm and for selling visas to expatriate laborers at cost ranging between KD 1,200 and KD 1,350 each, with the knowledge of the farm owner.

In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the Public Relations and Security Media Department revealed that the General Department for Residency Affairs received information about an Egyptian mandoub who produced fake official documents, which are issued by Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR),

concerning the labor need of a farm A team was formed for investigations and necessary legal action was taken after the information was verified.

Some of the laborers of the farm were arrested and they, during interrogations, revealed that role of the mandoub and visa trader of Egyptian nationality. The latter were arrested and they confessed that they, as well as the farm owner, sold each visa at cost ranging between KD 1,200 and KD 1,350.

A case was registered and the arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
