3,951 Tickets Issued, 239 Vehicles Impounded, 15 Arrested In Campaign

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) launched a widescale traffic inspection campaign with the participation of 280 police patrols, 101 officers and 179 privates. It resulted in filing 3,951 tickets, impounding 239 vehicles and six bikes, arresting 15 people, referring one person to juvenile police and another for deportation.

The crackdown took place under the command of interior ministry’s assistant undersecretary for traffic affairs Major General Abdullah AlMuhanna and traffic directors in various governorates.

Meanwhile, and on instructions from MoI undersecretary Lt Gen Suleiman Al-Fahd and under supervision of the assistant undersecretary for general security Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, a wide-scale security inspection campaign was launched in various governorates that resulted in impounding nine vehicles for violating traffic laws - three in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and two in Hawally, in addition to filing 66 tickets.
