3,995 Traffic Citations Issued In Security Campaigns
Officers from the General Traffic Department launched extensive security campaigns in all six governorates on Thursday, May 12 during which they issued 3,995 traffic citations, seized 234 vehicles and arrested 13 individuals including 10 juveniles. One of the arrested individuals has been referred for deportation. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the campaigns were launched based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna and under the supervision of Assistant Director General for Traffic Control and License Affairs at General Traffic Department Major General Fahad Al-Shuwai.
The General Traffic Department affirmed that such surprise campaigns will continue to be held round the clock for the protection of the road users. Meanwhile, Capital securitymen launched a number of security campaigns in various parts of the governorate last week and arrested a total of 241 individuals who are either wanted by law or had violated the residency law. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, Public Relations and Security Media Department affirmed that such security campaigns will continue to be held in several locations within the governorate for arrest the violators of law. It stressed the need for expatriates and Kuwaiti citizens to cooperate with securitymen in this regard in order to ensure the safety of the society.
