32 Zimbabwean Women Were Deported

02 May 2016 Kuwait

Thirty-two Zimbabwean women who were allegedly lured into the country under false promises of better jobs and better pay in the private sector but ended working as domestic help have been deported from the country at their request.

The German news agency (Deutsche-Presse Agentur) said the workers came to Kuwait after the labor domestic offices in home country cheated them by convincing them they would work in hotels and hospitals with a $700 salary.

However, when they arrived in Kuwait, they were whisked away and taken to work in homes. The Interior Ministry in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor deported them to Zimbabwe upon their request.
