A Kuwaiti Girl Arrested For Faking, Kidnapping, Robbing Youths

11 February 2016 Kuwait

A court in Kuwait has sentenced an unidentified young Kuwaiti girl, who is believed to be in her late teens to five years in prison for faking abduction and ‘robbing’ youths

The convict would prowl on wealthy looking youths inside commercial malls with the help of her mother, befriend them and go to their apartments under the pretext of having fun with them. The girl would simultaneously inform her mother of her whereabouts and the latter would then inform the police that her daughter has been kidnapped and give the exact location.

The police would then raid the place and arrest the youth. To avoid complications the mother and daughter would then settle for an amicable solution for nothing less than KD 10,000 to KD 20,000 depending on the circumstances. The mother planned every detail in such a way that she avoided filing a complaint with the same police station.

However, the plot was busted when a police officer who happened to see the mother remembered seeing her at another police station and his curiosity revealed she had come to file a similar complaint. The daughter was then referred to the concerned authorities and was subsequently sent to prison. It is not known why the mother escaped punishment since she is an accomplice to the crime.
