Aie To Increase Frequency Of Kozhikode- Kuwait Flight

Air India Express (AIE), the low-cost arm of Air India, is set to launch a major fleet and route expansion to Middle East destinations from Kerala. According to the announcement, Air Indian express will increase the existing three time a week service from Kozhikode to Kuwait will be increased to five service a week. Currently Kozhikode Kuwait route are on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. This will be increased to five service a week. 

The airline will expand its fleet by six additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft, all to be delivered within nine months from March. The airline will start two new flights, one from Kochi to Dammam and one from Ras al-Khaimah and Kozhikode. With this, the AIE will be the airline which operates the maximum of number of flights to 11 major Middle East destinations from Kerala, he said.

Once its route expansion and frequency addition is completed from Kerala, the AIE would start services from two-tier cities like Amritsar, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaipur, and Madurai to various Asian countries. This is expected to considerably increase the market share of AIE, which has now 98 per cent on time performance in Kerala, claimed officials.
