Airport Project To Be Completed 2 Years Ahead Of Schedule

22 September 2016 Kuwait

Turkish firm Limak Construction Co will complete the expansion of Kuwait International Airport (KWI) in four years instead of six, minister of social affairs and labour Hind Al-Sabeeh said yesterday following talks with Turkish minister of development Lutfi Elvan during his visit to Kuwait.

The minister said the company agreed to complete the project ahead of schedule due to cooperation by Kuwaiti authorities, particularly the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD).

She said the parties involved worked together to facilitate the project’s implementation ahead of time due to its strategic importance to the country. The new airport expansion will be able to accommodate over 25 million passengers a year after its completion, according to the Turkish minister Elvan. Both officials discussed bilateral ties in various industries such as investment opportunities in Kuwait.
