Ministry of Health Thursday sent a circular to all hospitals and healthcare centers, obligating All medical staff members on duty must wear business IDs, name tags

in various facilities of the ministry. It stressed that employees who do not comply with this condition will be penalized by the concerned authorities of the ministry, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources. They explained that the circular stressed the need to report any medical staff member including nursing staff and ordinary employees if they do not comply with this decision or are not available in their work position.

It also bans employees and visitors from entering restricted sections of the relevant facilities without permission. This is aimed to ensure the incident related to the presence of fake doctor who was recently arrested at Amiri Hospital is not repeated.

The sources revealed that the accused has been referred to the Public Prosecution for investigations after he was caught impersonating a doctor and examining patients, indicating that the ministry has been closely following up the results of the investigations to determine how the suspect managed to enter the Casualty Department of Amiri Hospital.

They affirmed that the ministry will not hesitate punishing those who are involved in this incident. They explained that the ministry has approved strict procedures and conditions to control the presence of interns and trainees in various hospitals and healthcare centers.

These conditions include not accepting any trainees of the medical field unless the concerned officials submit official letters through the dean of Medical College to the director of the concerned health zone to register the trainees. The trainees must also wear name tags for identification purpose during their working hours in the hospitals and healthcare centers.
