Authorities Fined Kd 1,000 For Restaurants
Environment Public Authority (EPA) recently launched an inspection campaign in a number of hotels in Abu Halifa and Fintas areas as well as in beaches belonging to the Touristic Enterprises Company.
The campaign was held with the cooperation of Environmental Police and a number of citations were issued during the campaign including against some seafront restaurants that failed to put up no-smoking signs in areas that are not designated for smoking, due to which the owners of those restaurants were imposed a fine of KD 1,000 as per Article 56 of the relevant law. Some citizens and expatriates were also fined for breaking the no-smoking law and dumping garbage on beaches.
