The Court of Appeals upheld verdict of the Court of First Instance and sentenced a citizen who has been extradited by Qatari authorities to serve 17 months in prison for offending symbols of the state and HH the Amir. The court sustained the judgment of 17 months imprisonment with labor, and immediate execution in the lawsuit filed against the suspect by the Public Prosecution. Also, the court sentenced the second suspect (relative of the first suspect) to 10 years in jail. The second suspect employed at the state’s entry/exit border point is accused of forging official documents to smuggle the first suspect out of the country, while the third suspect will serve 10 years jail term for aiding the second suspect to forge official documents
