Citizenship At Risk For 1,000 Citizens

Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah said 1,000 Kuwaitis stand to lose their citizenship if it is proved they were naturalized on the strength of forged documents or through fraudulent means.

He went on to say the next few days will disclose the names of those people who were naturalized on the strength of forged documents.

Al-Jarrah told the daily the citizenship files of those who have been naturalized will be subjected to be put under the microscope, especially as Kuwait begins to issue the e-passports and discovery of frauds will be easy to detect. He paid tributes to the employees of the General Directorate of Nationality and Management for Research and Investigation.
