Clampdown On Reckless People Who Throw Cigarette Butts In The Streets

A municipality in Kuwait has unveiled a Clampdown on smokers dumping cigarette butts in the street Hawali Governorate hygiene inspector Nasser Al-Ghanim said that law-breakers will penalized based on law 9 for 1987.

Drivers or passengers who throw cigarette butts from car windows will be fined KD5. In this case, the lawbreaker’s car plate number will be sent to the General Directorate of Traffic to be paid accordingly.

Lawbreakers who committed other violations that are classified as serious, would be fined up to KD200. In most cases, these violations are referred to the court to be settled by verdict.  

Al-Ghanim urged law enforcement to crackdown on people who dump rubbish in the streets.
