Committee Approved 45,161 Work Permit Transfer In Private Sector And Rejected Transfer Of 200 Employees
The Individual Disputes Supreme Committee has approved 45,161 applications for work permit transfer in the private sector and rejected the transfer of 200 employees since its inception in November 2015, reports Al-Jaridah daily quoting acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower Abdullah Al-Mutawtah. Al-Mutawtah explained that “within the abovementioned period, the committee held 62 meetings through which it received 6,152 transfer requests and handled 45,648 cases.
He said the committee postponed the processing of 287 transfer applications due to failure to meet the required period of six months while confirming that the committee works in an impartial and transparent manner in accordance with Private Sector Labor Law No. 6/2010.
He added the authority’s officials have approved the initiative presented by some committee members who suggested allowing submission of transfer transactions from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturdays at the Labor Department in Hawally Governorate.
He explained this initiative aims to reduce pressure on the authority’s headquarters in Jabriya, urging the public to submit their transactions within the specified time and place only. He stressed the committee will not receive transactions outside the designated hours and place.
Talking about the inspections, Al- Matawtah affirmed that the Inspection Central Department is working hard to ensure strict implementation of Labor Law No. 6/2010 in a bid to stop visa trading and combat bogus companies which led to the infl ux of marginalized workers.
