Cops Arrest 28 People, Issue 106 Traffic Citations, Seize 7 Vehicles, Liquor Bottles, Drug Pills Seized During Security Sweep
Officers from Ahmadi Security Directorate led by Acting Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa launched inspection campaigns in a number of areas within Ahmadi Governorate and arrested 28 individuals, issued 106 traffic citations and seized 7 vehicles.
The Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior explained that the arrested individuals include nine involved in financial cases, seven reported as absconding, one hawker with an expired residence permit, four who were caught gambling, five without any legal identification documents and the rest involved in various cases.
The department revealed that a Nepali expatriate was arrested in possession of 73 bottles of liquor and for driving without a drivers’ license.
Two individuals who had 30 narcotic pills with them and a Bedoun man with a bag of substances suspected to be drugs were also arrested. All arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them, while the seized vehicles were referred to the seized-vehicle garage.
