Cops Arrested A Kuwaiti For Forging Documents And Helping 20 Expats Get Residence Permit

08 October 2015 Kuwait

Personnel from the Residence Affairs Department have arrested a Kuwaiti working at one of the immigration departments and two company representatives — an Egyptian and an Iraqi — for forging documents and helping 20 expatriates get residence permit on the sponsorship of a company owned by a Kuwaiti without his knowledge, reports Al-Anba daily. The arrest came following a complaint filed by the company owner. During interrogation the men are said to have admitted to the charge. They said they sold each residence permit for between KD 800 and KD 1,500. Those who have benefitted from the forgery will be summoned and charged either with forgery or simply deported from the country.
