Court Acquitted A Citizen For Stealing Restaurant And Cafe Items

The Misdemeanor Court, presided over by Judge Muhammad Al-Mutairi, acquitted a citizen of stealing restaurant and café items as well as betrayal of trust in his capacity as the person in charge of managing the affairs of a café and restaurant.

Details of the case acknowledged by the complainant’s defense team indicate that according to a verbal agreement between him and the accused,

The latter will manage the affairs of the café and restaurant for a period of three months during which the suspect will have the authority to instruct the staff, buy materials and receive revenues.

The accused in turn should pay KD4,000 rent for the restaurant, pay the salaries of the staff and keep the rest of the revenues until they sign a legal contract. The accused did not sign the contract but stole a television set, play station and other items worth KD1,600 which belong to the defendant. He also took the restaurant revenues amounting to KD 33,016.800.

Lawyer for the accused, Attorney Ali Al-Ali, asserted in court that the accusations hurled at his client were erroneous and there is no evidence to support them.

He argued the investigations were inconclusive as the witnesses of the plaintiff did not prove in court that the accused stole the aforementioned items.
