Court Allows 28 Year Old Kuwaiti Woman To Marry A Bedoun Of Her Choice

The Personal Status Division of the appellate court presided over by Judge Khalid Al-Mendel allowed a Kuwaiti woman to marry a Bedoun man, reports Al-Shahed daily. Counsel to the Kuwaiti woman Lawyer Dhari Al-Zafiri had filed the case on behalf of his client. During the court session, he explained that his 28-year old client has the right to choose the person she wants to marry and her parents cannot object to her choice. He urged the court to allow her to marry the man of her choice. According to his client’s mother, the man is respectful, from a decent family and is capable of taking care and protecting her daughter and providing her with a decent lifestyle.
