Crisis Over Indian Community School

The crisis gripped the Indian Community School Kuwait reaches another level as the dispute between sponsor and the management continues. In a sudden move, the sponsor last day dismissed the current management board and appointed a new five member adhoc committee to manage the school. In a new development, last day, the sponsor called the principals of four schools and directed the principals to look after the administrative affairs of the school. Sponsor also appointed the principal of ICSK senior branch to coordinate the affairs of all the four schools, viz, senior, junior, Amman and Khaitan branches.


The crisis started last month when the school sponsor locked the board room and suspended the management board. After various discussions, the sponsor re opened the board room and allowed the management to function as usual. 


While a section of the sources says the dispute is over allegations of mismanagement and irregularities, others said that the dispute is over the ownership of the land given by Kuwait government to build the new school in Mahboulla and the huge balance in school fund, which is amount to 3 million Kuwaiti Dinar.


The sources close to the previous board informed that the board is going to fight the issue legally and had approached India government and PMO regarding the issue. "The school board is democratically elected by the parents of Indian students and we will not allow anyone to play with the future of our students", one of the board member told IndiansinKuwait.com 


Around 7000 Indian students are studying in the four branches of Indian Community School. Today the school is one of the best in Kuwait.
