Deputy Foreign Minister Launched A New Electronic Messaging System

24 February 2016 Kuwait

Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah on Tuesday launched a new electronic messaging system at the Foreign Ministry in order to streamline communication between the ministry and its diplomatic missions abroad.

Speaking at a news conference on this occasion, Al-Jarallah said the ministry's electronic messaging system has been devised and installed by its own technicians, boasting that his ministry is the first governmental agency to put this scheme in place.

Al-Jarallah expressed hope that other ministries and departments in Kuwait would follow suit in order to keep their respective necessary privacy.

The electronic messaging system would make it very easy for the ministry to have safe communications with its departments, he said, lauding it as a quantum shift that would ensure the confidentiality of documents and papers.

The move comes upon the instructions of First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for upgrading the ministry's performance and capabilities in order to keep abreast of state-of-the-art technology, he added.

Optic-fiber networks are used in the ministry's new electronic messaging system so as to provide safe and clear communications with the ministry's 104 diplomatic missions abroad, the deputy foreign minister pointed out.
