Duo Acquitted For Forging Kd20 Banknotes

A citizen and a Bedoun were acquitted of forging KD20 banknotes using advanced printing technique at a Criminal Court session chaired by Justice Mohammad Yusuf Ja’far. The two defendants were accused of issuing KD 20 counterfeit denomination for circulation by the use of advanced technique, and the prosecuting officer testified he found counterfeit KD 280 banknotes after waving the motorist (second suspect) down for questioning due to the reckless manner he was driving. The duo confessed to the act and admitted forging banknotes inside the house of the first suspect, and state of the art printer was recovered during a raid. The defense lawyer Yaqoub Al-Shatty attended the session and stressed that his two clients were arrested late at night without search or arrest warrant, and wrongly accused of crime with no proof.
