Duo Referred For Human Trafficking

Director-General of the General Department for Residence Affairs Major-General Talal Ma’arafi has referred two women a Zimbabwean and a Kuwaiti to Public Prosecution for trafficking in human beings. The Zimbabwean works for the maids recruiting office owned by the Kuwaiti. The Zimbabweans are reportedly promised between $750 and $1,000 when they are hired and promised lucrative jobs but end up receiving nothing more than KD 70 after they arrive into Kuwait and are forced to work as domestic servants and some are even reportedly forced into unpleasant jobs.
