Expats Arrested In Hiv Linked Homosexual Case
Three individuals – an Iranian, an Egyptian and a Bedoun – were arrested at Kuwait International Airport before they escaped from the country in order to avoid being investigated over a recent case involving an HIV-positive Egyptian expatriate.
Investigations also led to the arrest of 11 expatriates who are accused of committing immoral activities inside a massage club. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, an Egyptian national, who had arrived in the country on commercial visit visa sponsored by a health club, was detained after discovering that he is HIV positive.
A team of officers from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health had launched investigations to identify and take necessary action against the individuals with whom the suspect had sexual relations. A number of Egyptians were eventually summoned for questioning and medical tests; many of them were discovered to be HIV-positive and some are even at the advanced stage of the disease. Further investigations led to the discovery of a massage parlor for men where immoral activities were being carried out. A team of detectives from the General Department for Residency Investigations was formed to raid the massage parlor.
They arrested eight expatriates of different nationalities – four Syrians, three Filipinos, an Indian and a minor. They were also discovered to have violated the residency law. During interrogations, they confessed that they are working for the massage parlor and had engaged in immoral activities with their clients for which they were paid.
