Four Bootleggers Arrested
Category: Crime News

The security authorities acting on information raided a house in Al-Qurain which had been turned into a liquor manufacturing factory and arrested four bootleggers — two men and two women, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior.

Armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution the raiding party entered the house and seized 150 barrels of raw material, six gas cylinders, 3 containers full of locally- manufactured alcohol, sugar, yeast and a number of empty containers.

The bootleggers and the contraband have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control. The raid was carried out by the Mubarak Al-Kabir Security Command upon orders from the Director-General of Security Command Major-General Farraj Al-Zo’abi. The Public Relations and Security Media Department said the Ministry of Interior is keen to fight the ills in society and has called on the citizens and residents to call 112 in time of need.
