Gulf National Held For Getting Kuwaiti Nationality By Forging Documents

Detectives from the Citizen Affairs Department in the Interior Ministry arrested a Saudi national for obtaining Kuwaiti citizenship by forging documents.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers put the Saudi national under surveillance for some time, leading to his arrest with some narcotic pills in his possession. During interrogations, the Saudi disclosed that he paid KD20,000 to a Kuwaiti in 2000 in exchange for adding him in the latter’s citizenship file.

He also admitted to committing crimes in Saudi Arabia where he was sentenced to five years in jail in absentia. It has been reported that the Saudi owns an auto rental office and 160 cars. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti, who submitted the forged documents, is currently outside the country and he will be arrested upon his return to Kuwait.
