His Highness The Amir Condoles, Kuwait Condemns Ankara Attack

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has sent a cable of condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after a car bombing killed and wounded dozens of Turkish people in central Ankara on Wednesday evening.

His Highness the Amir expressed profound grief over the large number of victims of the terrorist attack, and prayed to Allah to have mercy on the souls of the martyrs, console their families and help those wounded to recover quickly. He strongly denounced the heinous attack which claimed innocent lives and targeted to destabilize the friendly country.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables to the Turkish leader. Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al- Ghanim has cabled his Turkish counterpart Ismail Kahraman expressing condolences on victims of the terrorist attack that targeted a military convoy in Ankara on Wednesday.

“We strongly condemn this criminal act of cowardice and affirm our full solidarity with the brotherly Turkish people,” the Parliament Speaker said in his cable to the top Turkish lawmaker.

He re-affirmed great need for bolstering cooperation at the regional and international levels to combat mounting terrorism. An official source at Kuwait Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Thursday the terrorist bombing which hit the Turkish capital Ankara, leaving 28 people dead and over 60 people injured.

The source said that Kuwait stands in support with the Turkish people and government, affirming that it refuses all acts of terrorism.

The official source expressed Kuwaiti condolences over the tragic incident. Kuwait Ambassador to Turkey Abdullah Al-Thuwaikh affirmed that all Kuwaiti nationals are safe and sound after a car bombing hit in central Ankara on Wednesday evening. The embassy received no reports of any Kuwaiti casualty in the deadly attack, he affirmed in statement to KUNA tonight.
