Huge Loss In Sale Of Revenue Stamps, Some Employees In Probe
The Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Health Mohammad Al-Azmi said the ministry has referred some employees, who are in charge of the revenue stamps to the Public Prosecution to recover some of the lost funds, reports Arab Times daily.
In a statement Al-Azmi said revenue stamps worth KD 12,710,645 have been unaccounted for. He stated the installation of revenue stamps machines is done in coordination with KNET and the Ministry of Finance.
He pointed out 279 machines are installed in most hospitals and health centers in the ministry and 639 devices to activate at a time when the company is facing a shortage in number of machines for all state ministries.
Sources added, the Minister of Health following the discrepancy in the revenue stamps file, has stressed on the installation of the rest of the machines in hospitals, health centers and prepare a report because of his keenness to implement financial systems and regulations in all their dealings, according to the rules of implementation of the budget.
