Impose Charges On Remittances - Mp

20 August 2015 Kuwait

MP Khalil Abdullah has stressed the need to impose charges for the remittances transferred overseas by expatriates in Kuwait, reports Aljarida daily. In a press statement, he insisted that ‘transit charges’ must also be imposed because the country is frequently used for air and land transits. MP Khalil indicated that the state properties must be analyzed because the rental value of some of these properties is almost zero compared to their market value and the value of their investment and commercial counterparts.

He said the government should check its expenditures and revenues, and assess the industrial areas particularly those with the private residential parts such as Shuwaikh Industrial Area in order to invest these areas based on modern criteria for meeting the needs of the country, especially since Kuwait has announced an expected deficit in this year’s budget.

Meanwhile, Head of parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee MP Hamad Al-Harshani stressed the need to approve the Gulf Security Pact due to its importance particularly in consideration of the current dangerous situation of the region, reports Aljarida daily.
