Indian Schools' Mega Arts Festival In Kuwait

For the first time in the history of Kuwait, the Indian school students are getting an opportunity to participate in the Mega Arts festival in Kuwait. More than 2000 students from 21 Indian schools will take part in the first ever Indian Schools’ Mega Arts Fest in Kuwait organised by the Indian Community School.

"Unlike our peers in India, the opportunities for Indian school students in Kuwait are limited in terms of competition and arts fest. This made us to think about a Mega Arts Fest with the participation of all Indian schools in Kuwait", said Dr Binumon, Principal and senior administrator of Indian Community School Senior, Salmiya and the General Convenor of the Indian Schools’ Mega Arts Fest 2016.

There will be around 80 items both onstage and off stage and around 5 sections. In total more than 2000 students will be participating in the two day Fest. The Mega Arts fest will be held on Thursday, December 1st and Friday December 2nd on six stages at three venues. The venues are Salmiya ICSK Senior, ICSK Junior and ICSK Amman branch. All preparatitons are in full swing for the succesful completion of this mega event, school officials said in a press briefing.

The Inaugural Ceremony will be held on Thursday, 1st December 2016 at 8.00 am in presence of British Ambassador to Kuwait H E Mathew James Lodge and famous cine artist and dancer from India Sudha Chadran, Mrs Maryam Abdul Rahman Dashti from Ministry of Education. The inaugural function will be followed by 'Guru Pranam' where all the Indian school principals will be felicitated.

The Valedictory Ceremony & Prize Distribution will be held on Friday, 2nd December 2016 at 6.00 pm at ICSK Senior. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Sunil Jain will be the chief guest for the closing ceremony in which Oscar Award winner Padma Shri Dr Resul Pookutty will give away prizes to more than 600 winners in the Mega Arts Fest. This will be followed by Muical concert by Stephan Devassy.

Studenst from KG to class 12th from Indian schools are participating in the two day grand event. Registration process is completed through various schools. Expert judges from each fields will be judging the competition. Results will be declared within 15 minutes of the completion of each event, Dr Binumon said.

In each category, the best performers will be conferred the title of 'Kalaprathibha' (Male) and 'Kalathilakam' (female). ICSK Board secretary Amer Muhammed, Principal of ICSK Junior Mr Rajesh Nair, Program Convenor Jacob George and Jt Convenor Sunish Mathew were also present during the press briefing.
