Interior Ministry Had Formed A Special Security Committee To Speed Deportation Illegal Expats

18 January 2016 Kuwait

Ministry setup special panel to accelerate deporting illegal expats arrested so far. that the total number of expats arrested in violation of residency laws was over 1,100 and that their immediate deportation had been delayed due to some formalities and obstacles such as holding expired passports or losing them, which is a must in order to scan their fingerprints and make sure they are not wanted for any other legal claims.

The sources highlighted that more coordination was needed with arrested expats’ embassies pending deporting them, which would take a long time. “Another obstacle is being wanted for other cases, which slows down deportation and calls for referring them to relevant authorities instead,” daily added quoting sources. Some of the arrested expats have no relatives in Kuwait to whom they could entrust powers of attorney to wrap up their affairs in Kuwait, daily added.
