Interior Ministry Stresses Security Cooperation Between Interpol Members

Interior Ministry Undersecretary General Sulaiman Al-Fahad, stressed Wednesday the importance of strengthening security cooperation between police bodies and members of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).

Such promotion is aimed at achieving more successes that serve international police work, and at fighting all forms of crime, Security Media Department at the Ministry said in statement quoting Al-Fahad as saying in a speech at the 85th Interpol General Assembly currently held in Bali, Indonesia.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior is keen on coordination and continuous communication as well as the exchange of information and experiences with the Interpol members, Al-Fahad added.

The 85th session discussed topics aimed at activating the work of Interpol at all levels between members and the development of programs and methods to counter global threats and terrorism.

Interpol seeks to ensure that police bodies around the world have the necessary tools and services to perform effectively, through which they can arrest the largest possible number of criminals, he said.

Interpol aims to facilitate international cooperation between the police bodies in order to arrest wanted persons according to international legal systems and procedures followed in different countries in line with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
