25 December 2015 Kuwait

Jazeera Airways has announced plans to increase flights between Kuwait and Saudi capital Riyadh to four flights a week starting January 1, 2016. The airline currently operates three weekly flights between Kuwait and Riyadh on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The additional flight will be operated on Thursdays, the carrier said in a statement.

In addition to serving the Saudi capital, Jazeera Airways operates daily flights to Jeddah with double daily flights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

"The additional Riyadh service is designed to serve the needs of business travelers looking to return home before the weekend, and leisure travellers looking to spend their weekend in Riyadh," Jazeera said in the statement. Last month, Jazeera Airways recorded a 2.4 percent rise in net profit of KD8.3 million ($27.3 million) for the third quarter of 2015 compared to the year-earlier period. For the first nine months of the year, the carrier said net profits totalled KD14.5 million, an 11.7 percent increase over the same period last year.
