Kd 100 Per Month To Be Paid As Housing Aid

Applicants qualified for housing aid will be paid KD 100 per month of the next 18 months, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yagoub Al-Sanea announced on Thursday.

He made this remark during a press conference held on the occasion of announcing the first money dispatch, as part of a funding housing plan.

This financial aid will help Kuwaiti families of limited income, families who are unable to pay their rent and newlyweds who are financially exhausted to make their payments on time.

The housing aid plan was established in accordance to decree 441/2015. 362 applications were received; only 117 one were qualified for approval.

"The funds will be disbursed in the accounts retroactively to January of 2016," Al-Sanea said. He added that KD 275,000 was allocated to fund the project this year alone;

Approved applicants will be paid KD 100 per month for the next 18 months. He stressed that the Kuwaiti leadership is very much keen on providing a good life to all citizens by focusing on finding solution for the ongoing housing issue.
