Kuwait Authorities Decided To Restrict Police Officers From Giving Unauthorized Media Statements
A decision to ban Interior Ministry officers from making unauthorized publication and to maintain the secrecy of work was issued under the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad yesterday, reports local daily Kuwait Times.Â
As per the report, members of the police force, whether uniformed or civil, are not allowed to Write, give statements, publish any opinions, research or columns, give interviews or publish anything on social media until after obtaining a permission. They are also restricted from giving any information related to crimes to any media outlet until obtaining a special permission from the relations and security information department, Providing the media with any pictures, papers or data about their work, and only through the relations and security information department and Inviting media members to accompany them while carrying out security missions, which should maintain complete secrecy.
