Kuwait Bans Poultry Products From India Due To Concerns Of Bird Flu

10 March 2016 Kuwait

The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources has banned the import of all poultry products from India due to concerns of H5N1 (bird flu). Kuwait accounts for only a fraction of India’s export market to the Middle East, importing around 24.19 tons of poultry annually.

The ban is a precautionary measure due to recent outbreaks of bird flu in several areas of India including Tripura and Mizoram. India is a major supplier of poultry products to Saudi Arabia and Oman.
