Kuwait Collects 7,400 Weapons During Gun Amnesty

More than 7000 weapons and 20 tonnes of ammunition have been surrendered under a gun amnesty in Kuwait, authorities have said.

Eighteen people also have been arrested for possessing a total of 63 illegal firearms during raids carried out at the end of the amnesty, Director General of Weapons Collecting Detectives Department Major General Farraj Al Zoubic was quoted as saying by Kuwait Times.

The 7408 weapons handed in have been given to police and the Kuwaiti army, he said.
