Kuwait Launches Humanitarian Village For Syrian Refugees In Turkey
Director General of Kuwait's International Islamic Charitable Organization Salem Hamada on Saturday opened a humanitarien village named after His Highness the Amir for Syrian refugees in Turkey's southern Kilis city.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Hamada said that it is the third humantarian village that the state of Kuwait launches in Turkey in order to help Syrian
refugees in Turkey.
The village, which costs a total of USD 11 millions, includes 1,248 prefabs, two schools, a kindergarden, a service center, a mosque and a clinic, he said, hoping that it would help in the alleviation of the humanitarian sufferings and woes of Syrian refugees.
He added that since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has launched several humanitarian initiatives in order to support humanitarian response to the Syrian problem.
Hamada appreciated the great help of Kuwaiti charities and organizations in the financing of this humanitarian project targeting Syrian refugees in Turkey.
He also highly commended the efforts of the Turkish government for hosting Syrian refugees and providing them with everything they need.
On his part, Kilis Governor Suleyman Tapsiz hailed the humanitarian role of His Highness the Amir and the State of Kuwait in supporting Syrian refugees in Turkey and neighbouring countries.
He also thanked the International Islamic Charitable Organization for its efforts to ease out the humanitarian sufferings of Syrian refugees.
