Kuwaiti Ambassador Attacked In France

Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Sami Mohammad Al-Suleiman said yesterday Kuwait’s Permanent representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Dr Mishal Jowhar Haya’at was subjected to assault by an unidentified person.

In a press statement, Ambassador Al-Suleiman said the incident happened while his counterpart was jogging last Monday evening. He pointed out as soon as the French security authorities received a report on the incident security squads rushed to the spot and began investigations.

In the meantime, according to the Kuwaiti envoy, Haya’at was taken to a hospital for medical check. He also said the Kuwaiti Embassy in France is coordinating with the French authorities. Al-Suleiman also said Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely following up the developments to ensure safety of its diplomats.
