Kuwaiti Arrested For Renewing License Illegally

The department explained that the Search and Investigations Unit also arrested a Kuwaiti citizen for renewing the license of a trading company illegally. He also renewed the license of a transportation company for a period from 2013 to 2016, after it was in a cancelled state for a while. There were no official documents indicating the renewal of the license.

Investigations revealed that the transaction was carried out without the approvals of Kuwait Municipality and Ministry of Communication, as well as without the presentation of rent contract or rent receipts.

The department said the General Department of Residency Affairs requested the concerned department for the names of the employees who issued the license, after which it was discovered that one of the employees, a Kuwaiti citizen, was involved in the issuance of the license with the assistance of a female colleague.

When confronted, the suspect admitted to using his authority to renew the license illegally but he could not remember further details in this regard.

The General Department of Public Relations and Media Security revealed that the owner of the company have been summoned and referred along with the suspect to the concerned authorities for further investigations. A case of falsification of official documents was filed against the suspect.
