Kuwaiti Gold Medalist Will Be Paid Kd5,000 Monthly For Four Years

A Kuwaiti gold medalist will be rewarded for honouring his country in the Olympic Games (Rio 2016).

Fehaid Al Deehani will be paid KD5,000 as monthly salary over the coming four years till Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.

The champion marksman captured men's double trap gold by defeating Italy's Marco Innocenti in the final match.  

He is expected to return home from Brazil to a warm welcome early tomorrow morning at 3.30 am, aboard a private jet belonging to Kuwait Airways.

Al Deehani, a Kuwaiti army officer, became the first Kuwaiti athlete to win an Olympic medal with a bronze at Sydney in 2000 and added another in London four years ago.
