Category: Kuwait

A member of the Municipal Council and Chairman of Farwaniya Governorate Committee Nayef Al-Sour affirmed that Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis are suffering from clear social marginalization in terms of the laws related to them, calling for an end to such a discrimination by amending the relevant laws and regulations.

Al-Sour indicated that these women in most cases live in rented apartments and their salaries are not sufficient to cover the costs of living and their needs which are ever-increasing. He revealed that many of them are not working and their husbands have passed away, stressing that he wonders where the justice and good living is which is guaranteed by the Kuwait Constitution to women.
