29 April 2016 Kuwait

Kuwait's Consul General in Istanbul Mohammad Fahad Al-Mohammad affirmed the safety of all Kuwaiti tourists and the consulate's staff following a suicide blast that targeted the entrance of a historic bazaar in Bursa in northwestern Turkey.

The consul said in a press statement that the consulate contacted Turkey's concerned bodies which confirmed ‘no Kuwaiti was harmed’ in the incident.

He appealed to all Kuwaitis in Turkey to be vigilant and keep away from the site of the explosion.

According to reports in Turkey, one person was killed and seven others wounded in the blast that was carried out by a woman, 25, when she blew herself up.

The United States issued on Tuesday a warning to its citizens in Turkey about ‘credible’ terror threats to tourist areas of the country.
